TexxaStar Wireless Service Areas
Phase I of TexxaStar Wireless is complete!
Our inital build-out area spans the Guadalupe River valley from Hunt to Comfort and points between. The main goal of Phase I was to
make our wireless signal available to fixed and mobile users along Hwy 27. With this portion complete and fully tested, it now possible
to drive from Hunt to I-10 in Comfort while enjoying our network! This exciting development has opened up a new range of services
previously not considered possible in the Hill Country.
General Coverage Map
Click the link to see a representative map of our wireless coverage areas. Most areas inside a circle
can now or will soon be able to get TexxaStar. The key to the circle colors is:
Green - Currently accepting orders for service. This is our initial build-out area. The goal of this stage is
to span 40 miles of Guadalupe River valley with our backbone and user networks, which provide Internet
and VoIP telephone service to our customers.
Blue - Under construction. These areas have been surveyed and potential tower locations identified,
with site acquisition and construction planning occurring now. End-user service available 3-12 months.
Red - Planned Future Expansion. Each area included here has expressed interest in our service or has
committed resources toward enabling our expansion there. End-user service available 12-24 months.
Phase II of TexxaStar Wireless expands our coverage north and south
TexxaStar was conceived as a means of delivering broadband Internet service to those areas that have been traditionally underserved by the
telecommunications industry. Phase II will bring our service to areas north and south of Hwy 27, including Mountain Home, selected areas beyond
Hunt, the Hwy 16 south area down to the county line, and radio-blind areas already in our area but not visible to our towers. Phase II will occur
throughout 2006.
Phase III of TexxaStar Wireless takes us to new regions
Many communities, some in other counties, have expressed interest in TexxaStar and asked us to bring our unique service to them. These areas
include Harper, Bandera, Medina, Pipe Creek, Waring, Sisterdale, MO Ranch, the Garven Store area, and Vanderpool. We have begun initial planning
for these areas and will bring them online as demand and conditions dictate. Work on these areas will begin in 2006 and extend through 2008.
Phase IV of TexxaStar Wireless enhances our network
The Texas Hill Country is one of the most poorly served regions of Texas when it comes to telecommunications. Texxa is has designed its network to rectify this condition by bringing data, voice, and video services to the heart of our great state - a feat not dared or attempted by others. Phase IV will link our wireless backbone directly to the national telephone infrastructure in San Antonio. This accomplishment will eliminate the unending problems and extreme pricing abuse currently inflicted on Hill Country consumers by greedy, indifferent phone companies. Phase IV is under way now, but will not be complete for
some time.
